Spring time fun at Grandma & Grandpa Brugger's

Mommy had some studying to do today, so I went to play at Grandma & Grandpa's house for a few hours. I had a lot of fun! When Mommy came over, I was covered in blue chalk! So was the goose, the porch, and everyone's feet & shoes!!

I am getting really good at running, too. Here I am running around the front yard.

Daddy told Mommy that porch railings must be narrow enough to prevent kids from falling through. That's a good thing because I tried sticking my head through while playing with Aunt Korey, but it wouldn't fit - so Grandma just took a quick picture instead!

Mommy just told me that she booked a flight for us to Minnesota with Great Grandma Jeanne. It will be my first time on an airplane! Unfortunately, Daddy isn't going, but I will get to see my Great-Great Grandpa Carpenter. Mommy & Daddy say that we saw him last year, too, but I was little & don't remember.

Mommy has two more exams - one Wednesday & one Thursday, then she is done for the semester. We can't wait!

Swimming & Birthday Party

Yesterday was a big day. Aunt Becca spent the night & went to Saginaw to Delta College's Leisure Pool with us. We met our friends, Jennifer and Mallory. It was a lot of fun! We splashed in the fountains, and other water toys in the shallow end. Mom put my life jacket on and we swam in the deeper end. They had a current pool that we used like a lazy river with a big pool noodle. A couple times we turned around and pushed against the current. Talk about a workout - for Mom anyway! On our way home, we stopped for lunch & I was out as soon as we got on the highway.

It's a good thing I got a little nap in because later on, we went to Madison's first birthday party. Madison shared her toys with me, and then we ate dinner. After dinner, Madison opened her presents and we had some cake. I was really tired & cranky, and I cried when I couldn't go in Madison's new car, but after she was done in it, I got to ride! We left early because I was so tired from my long day. After a nice bath, and snack of strawberries, I went to bed early! Mommy did too!

Today will be more laid back. We all slept in, and Mommy has a lot of studying to do for exams this week. I will be playing with Daddy to give Mom some study time...with play breaks, of course!
Have a great week everyone!

A fun day outside with Mom!

I had a fun day with Mom today! We were up early, so we decided to go grocery shopping. Later on, we got to play outside. We played with chalk on the sidewalk, went for a walk (or in my case, ride in the wagon), I played in my house, on my slide, went for a bike ride, and chased a robin around the yard (phew!). Mom says it was probably protecting a nest in the pine tree, but I still was trying to "catch 'em!"

When Daddy got home, he washed his motorcycle. I tried to help, but was more interested in the hose & big puddle of water it was creating!! When we were done, it was so clean, I could see my reflection!

Tomorrow, I am going to Grandma & Grandpa Brugger's for a few hours in the morning because Mom has an appointment for some pampering!

Daddy-isms

Last night, while Mommy was studying, Daddy & I got to show her how we like to spend our time when she's at school. We watched the hockey game, and I got hungry. Daddy let me have a cold hot dog for a snack. Mommy thinks it doesn't sound very good, but I sure ate it! Afterwards, I washed it down with a sip of Daddy's beer. Mommy was surprised & I immediately went over & told her "beer" to make sure she knew what Daddy did!! It was a very funny moment that Mommy calls a "daddy-ism."

One more day of cold, dreary weather, and it's supposed to be very nice. I can't wait! Maybe we will do a playdate with some friends, or Mommy & I can play outside in my playhouse.

Mommy & I are having a playdate Saturday morning with Jen & Mallory Pelton. We are going to Delta College for a Mommy & Me swim. It should be a lot of fun! Later on, we are going to Madison Dunk's first birthday party. It will be a fun-filled busy day for us!

All for now!

Kalahari Trip

Last weekend, Dad, Mom, Korey, Alan, and me went down to Kalahari Resorts in Ohio. Everyone had a good ride & my diaper even stayed dry, since I used the potty each time we stopped!

It was too late to go to the waterpark on Friday, so we walked around and looked at everything. We went to bed to rest up for the big day of playing on Saturday. Mommy didn't sleep very well since I slept in their bed. I kept grabbing her hair & climbing all over. I guess that's what happens, since I'm liking sleeping in my own bed better!

Saturday morning, we ate breakfast and then went to the waterpark! Everyone had a great time! Shannon & Alan rode some waterslides that were too big for me. Unfortunately, some of them were down, so the lines at the working ones were really long.

Here I am in a swing that I used last year. Look how big I am in it this time!!

There were lots of little slides for me to use, but I didn't like most of them because they sprayed water in my face. I found a favorite that Daddy & Alan went down with me!

After lots of playing, we floated around the lazy river for a while, and I almost fell asleep on Mommy's lap!! We ate lunch, then I took a quick cat nap on Daddy.

While I slept, Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Korey took some time to relax, too!

After my nap, I was ready to play again!!
Mommy, Daddy & I played in the water some more. I really liked playing on the jeep, pretending to drive!

Once we dried off, Mommy took me to play in the jungle gym and dry play area. She helped me through some of the hard obstacles, and I got to play the drums at the top!

Phew...that was a lot of playing for one day! I guess it wore Mommy out, because here she is falling asleep while we were waiting for our pizza!
It was a really great trip, and now it's back to business for Mommy & Daddy. Mommy has finals over the next two weeks, so it will be busy. But when she's done, we will get to spend lots of time together!! I can't wait!!

Crummy Rash...

I have red, blistery bumps on my face and some on my legs, belly, arms, and back. They don't really bother me, but they sure don't look fun! Mommy took me to the doctor yesterday, and he just dismissed it as a non-specific viral infection. So, I guess we will just keep an eye on it. Mommy & Daddy have been spending a lot of time looking things up on the computer and said it looks like possibly Roseola, or sixth disease. But from what everything says, it should be gone soon, so we are looking forward to it.

You can see a little here on my cheek. I was trying out my new Dora toothbrush!

Tomorrow will be a busy day. Mommy has lots of laundry, cleaning, shopping, and packing to do to get ready for our Kalahari trip with Aunt Korey & Alan. Mom's been telling me all about it, and it sounds really fun! They say I've been there before, but I don't remember. Here is a picture of me having fun in the water with Daddy when I was just 7 months old:

Happy Easter!

Yesterday was my 2nd Easter, and it was a beautiful day. When I woke up, I found a pretty purple basket with all kinds of goodies in it. I even found some colored eggs hiding throughout the living room with candy and money in them! Some of the things in my basket were: a bubble shooter that Daddy shoots bubbles from that I love to catch, a new toothbrush & toothpaste, a pretty tea set, and a big box of sidewalk chalk! I even got a playhouse that has a slide on it. I can't wait until it warms up so I can go out and play on it!

Here's a picture of what the Easter Bunny left me:

Here I am testing out the slide on my playhouse:

Later on, we went over to Grandma & Grandpa B's house for Easter dinner. Was I surprised when I saw the Easter Bunny stopped there, too! I got a cute watering can, a new chair, another new toothbrush, and a wagon full of blocks. That bunny must have been in a hurry, 'cuz he dropped lots of eggs in the backyard! Here I am picking some up:

After finding the eggs, we had a yummy dinner! It was such a great day and wonderful time with family!!

Hello!

Mommy says:

Hi! Welcome to Weston World! Since I don't have a lot of time to scrapbook these days due to my school schedule (which will only get worse starting this Fall), I've decided to try my hand at blogging. It will probably start out slow, but hopefully, with a little practice, it'll get better. I really hope to use it as a tool to keep in touch with family, so they can watch our baby grow in "cyber space time." I'd also like to look back at it after I'm done with school, and relive these next two years, because I am sure they will fly by & be crazy busy with the accelerated program.

As most of you know, I lost my job at the end of April 2008. With a lot of help & encouragement from my family, I went back to school last July. I've been taking my pre-reqs for the accelerated 2nd degree BSN program for UM-Flint, and last month, received my acceptance letter to start the 16 month program in the fall!! I've heard a lot about how much work it will be, and that my social life may temporarily suffer - hence thinking a blog might be a good way to share my thoughts & feelings as I go through.

Also, as mentioned before, I feel really guilty for not keeping up with Anna's first 18 months. I have lots of pictures, and I hope that when I get some time to organize them, I can remember all the little stuff that I'm afraid of forgetting. Considering she will be 3...(3!!) by the time I get done with school, I don't want to miss a thing, when I might not be able to be as involved as I will want. I'm so lucky to have a wonderful husband and family that I can lean on and help push me a long during this process.

It's been a busy year so far, and I am so excited to just have 2 online classes this spring. I will take advantage of the time to spend as much time as possible with my family before the craziness of the next year & a half.

I think that's enough babbling for now. Hopefully my thoughts will become a little more organized as I get more practice sharing them!
